Where is my piece of the pie?

A lot of people know about and have experiences with networking. When you say “networking,” they have an image come to mind. Not as many people have an experience with masterminds or peer advisory groups. Let’s look at the differences and similarities between these kinds of meetings.

A peer advisory group is a community of people with similar goals who meet regularly to discuss their business challenges. Through collaboration and facilitated discussion, members gain insight into what their next business steps can be. They often discuss personal issues as they impact business. These are people who get to know the real you!

Networking is more about lead generation and introductions.

Here is a beautiful thing about The Good Humans Growth Network™: in our groups, we think these distinctions can be fuzzy– and the fuzziness is ok with us!

You can get sales leads from your peer advisory group. Your networking group could decide to spend time on a peer advisory session if a leader decides that’s wise. Good Humans will want to work on their businesses together and make introductions to new clients.

Picture a pie chart for your meeting time: A piece of your time could be longer peer advisory, working through a member’s business issue, and then later you can have a networking activity. At your next meeting, the size of the slices may flip. In this case, you’ll spend longer on understanding each other’s value propositions and discussing networking. Either way, you still get a delicious, amazing, whole pie.

The fact is, good humans like both kinds of groups. That’s why we’ve decided to start referring to our networking and peer advisory groups as Grow Groups. Your group will have elements of advice and networking. You’ll still grow in business development, relationship development, and personal development. It’s a win-win!

If Grow Groups sound like something you want to be a part of, fill out the form here and let’s work together!
