Giving your business some love

“I'd like to build the world a home And furnish it with love”

- The New Seekers

When it comes to the world of business, there’s not a lot of room for love.

Oh sure, marketing loves to talk about their products with images and language of love, but business has the reputation of selfishness. Looking out for number one. Doing whatever it takes to get ahead. Where’s the love in that?

When I wrote How Good Humans Sell®, I didn’t define what it meant to be a Good Human. I trusted that in the context of sales, we all know innately what it means to not act like a good human. For a time, my simple descriptions in the book seemed enough. Now that I’m building this Network of groups, the topic is central- What is a Good Human? If we don’t know what this means, how can we surround ourselves with people who will support us in our endeavors to be Good Humans?

As I started on an overarching list (broad enough to be useful but vague enough that you feel inspired to add to it), one word kept popping up: Love. Good Humans love others. There are lots of ways we might express that love such as

  • Honesty

  • Curiosity

  • Selflessness

  • Patience… etc…

All these attributes show that we love others. You can add to the list!

When we start talking about loving one another inside the groups in the Network, these are the ideas we want to have spring to mind. The hands-on, nitty gritty, day-to-day ways we treat each other in everything we do show if we are a Good Human.

These attributes are required for leaders and members of our groups. That’s the real thing.
